Classic façades are façade systems whose elements are manufactured in a production plant and their further assembly is done at the object. This type of façade system solution requires less work at the production plant, however, more time and work is necessary for the assembly of elements at the object.
In the assembly process the frame of the façade is created first by assembling load bearing vertical and horizontal structures of aluminium system, then glass elements are installed, and sealing and air-tightness is created. If joints between a certain façade system and other constructions and elements of the building (roof, sockets, etc.) are planned and created, flashings are added at the final stage of installation.
Standardized panel façade systems of the element façades are manufactured in a production plant, therefore ready-to-install façade elements are delivered to the object, as opposed to classic façade systems whose elements are mainly assembled at the object.
The main advantage of the standardized panel façade system is its high quality, which can be achieved with standard manufacture operations and regular quality control at the production plant, and the quick installation process. Installation of façades is performed concurrently with the construction of the building's frame, by using specific lifting platforms and mechanisms.
The advantages of the element façade system are of particular importance if specific façade solutions are required. They offer wider possibilities during the manufacturing process, as well as bigger elasticity and a chance to vary in the installation process, still maintaining high technical level and speed.
These façade systems are mainly used for buildings that have large glass façade surfaces.
Intelligent façades are façades that have been equipped with additional protection mechanisms, for example, blinds, ventilation and such. Self-control system of façades, namely, blinds system and/or ventilation elements, work depending on the conditions of the environment (sun, wind, rain).
Intelligent façade systems are usually interconnected with the building's central management system, thus it interacts with other ventilation, heating and cooling systems. Façade system receives data from the central management system about changes in rain, wind, smoke, fire and temperature, and uses its elements to ensure living comfort and reduce energy consumption.
Ventilation of façade is ensured by double layer glass technology and mechanical ventilation which creates additional air between the two layers of glass. Mechanical ventilation consumes extra energy resources but it is compensated for with reduced energy resources for cooling.
Nowadays the modern glass manufacturing technologies allow creating original by appearance façades or building elements in various forms and arches. For these façade solutions specially processed glass columns and beams, and steel or metal ties are used instead of load bearing vertical elements. Glass is connected with and fastened to the building's load bearing constructions at several places.
